Strung out on heroin, Jack a shadow of his former self. But he's able to tell Pete exactly where Bridget's kidnappers are hiding: in the supernatural shadow-world of the fey. Even though she's spent years disavowing the supernatural, Pete follows Jack into the invisible fey underworld, where she hopes to discover the truth about what happened to Bridget - and what happened to Jack on that dark day so long ago.

Thoughts: Street Magic is an exciting fast paced read. Prior to reading this new book I read Ms. Kittredge's first two books in her Nocturne City series and just loved her writing voice. Her characters take you on a journey of non-stop action. The writing isn't bogged down with unnecessary dialogue that you find in some dark fantasy books. I always find that refreshing. Pete and Jack are quiet interesting and have great chemistry. Their back and forth nagging at each other was amusing. The only problem I had with it were the names "Pete" and "Jack". I had to keep reminding myself that Pete is a chick. Otherwise I really enjoyed this first installment.

Thoughts: Another great addition to the series. For me every book gets better and better. When Rydstrom appeared in Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night I didn't give him much thought. Then in Dark Desires After Dusk I thought he was the biggest ass for the way he treated his brother Cadeon. But in this new book you learn a lot about him. A better understanding of him and what he's been through. Sabine is great too, she is the perfect mate for Rydstrom. Strong and independent, take no bullshit kinda girl. She really was born to be a Queen.

I wonder who the next book will be about. I'm really looking forward to when Nix gets her own book. I'd like also to see one about Reign and of course the any Wroth Brothers. Either way I'm looking forward to the next install whatever it brings.

[Review] - Out of Reality

I received this book for review from the author.

Summary: Kara, after an injury in a karate class, has a series of strange visions involving other teens who have also been Chosen. All are unprepared for their new responsibility and burden. On the run, hunted by a tribe of assassins and an evil Illusionist, the Chosen struggle to understand each other and their inherent powers. Even with the aid of their Guardians, will they be able to defend Naranda and escape the dark forces intent on their death?

Thoughts: I'm a fan Young Adult books, although usually the ones I read are to do with vampires. But this one was quiet interesting. If you like fantasy and reading stories that take place in a different world, this is definitely a book to check out. At 366 pages I found it fast and enjoyable read. The teens in this story are really everyday teens to start out with. But slowly coming into their own each discovering their powers and the journey they are on. Really a coming of age type of story.

Shots & Book Shopping

Today I went to see my Rheumatoidologist (arthritis dr). I've been feeling good so I didn't have too much to report, except some really bad headaches back at the beginning of December. I wasn't sure there was a connection but I mention it anyway. So my doctor comes around and pushes down on my shoulders and my neck. OMG, that man is lucky I didn't back hand him... it hurt so bad. So, he gets out his pen and starts marking spots. That is never a good sign when that happens. In the end I got a shot in each shoulder and a shot on each side of my neck. Yes 4 needles.. ugh I really hate getting shots. But these weren't has bad as when I got one in my knee.

Afterwards it was all worth it cause I went book shopping. :) I've been saving up my gift cards from Christmas so I was able to get more than I usually do. I got:

[Review] - The Wallflowers

The Wallflower books are the second series I read by Lisa Kleypas. I remember I had just finished reading the first books in The Hathaway series (also by Kleypas) and I was telling my friend Barbara how much I enjoyed them. And she says "Well you gotta read The Wallflowers" A week or so later I had the first book in hand along with a second copy, cause Barbara ended up sending me one, which was a nice surprise. I fell in love with the world from just the first few pages. These five books are some of my favorites. Even though theses women were from a different time, there were little things about each of them that I could really relate to. The heroes are to bad either. :) I believe Lisa Kleypas writes some of the best heroes, in and out of The Wallflower series. Once you start the first book you won't want to stop, they are that good. So, if your a fan of Historical Romances and haven't read these books... This series is a must. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.


As for the second copy of Secrets of a Summer Night, I sent that off to AmyC. Barbara and I are still hoping she'll give it a try. *hint hint* ;)

Four young ladies enter London society with one common goal: they must use their feminine wit and wiles to find a husband. So a daring husband-hunting scheme is born.

Stepping out of my Comfort Zone: For me that would be Historical Romance. Before this year the only Historicals I read were ones that had Paranormal in them. But thanks to Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas & Kinley MacGregor I've been sucked into this genre and now it's one of my favorites.
