Book Summary:

Wreathed in mists that are older than time, the mountain sanctuary of Jesse Clawfoot is threatened, and an ancient magic transforms him into a cougar. Ferocious. Powerful. On the prowl and lethally silent—until his instincts compel him to hunt for a mate, one who will help keep his people from extinction. His keen senses lead him to Dakoda Jenkins, whose beauty and compelling sensuality awaken his deepest lust and most ardent desire. Once aroused, Jesse must lure her to his hidden lair…and unleash her wildest passion…

Excerpt:

Dakoda’s stomach lurched. Hand lifting, she closed her eyes and pressed her palm against her forehead. “The concussion,” she reasoned, barely speaking above a whisper. “It’s making me hallucinate.”

She was seeing things. Yeah. That’s it. Between the trauma of witnessing Greg’s murder, the exhaustion of keeping herself in one piece, and a near rape, her trolley had somehow slipped off the track of sanity. Reason was going in an entirely different direction, exploring uncharted territory.

I’m losing it for sure, she thought. Cougars don’t turn into men.

She inwardly cringed. The idea seemed crazy, even inside the confines of her apparently demented mind. Of course a human couldn’t turn into an animal. Magic, hocus-pocus, call it what you will, didn’t exist.

A man’s voice broke through the curtain Dakoda was attempting to pull around her murky senses. “I don’t mean to be a pain in the ass, but I can assure you I’m not a figment of your imagination.” A pause. “Though if it helps I wish I were. I’d rather be any place else but here.”

The apparition was talking. To her.

Dakoda lowered her hand. She opened her eyes. Sure enough, the naked man was still there.

For a moment she considered the idea she’d fallen asleep. It made sense her damaged, desperate psyche might conjure up such an extraordinary scenario. It could all just be a creation of her imagination.

Easily explained, easily understood.

But the scene unfolding before her eyes didn’t have the surreal, kaleidoscopic quality of a dream. In dreams, the angles were off, odd and vague, stretched and distorted. What she saw now was all sharp and very much in focus.

“You were the cougar,” she said, a slight frown curving her mouth. “I know what I saw.”

The man sat up slowly, moving with lazy grace as he settled into a sitting position not quite as distracting. “Yeah,” he said quietly. “But what do you see now?”

What she saw was enough to take her breath away all over again, and in an entirely different way. The one thing she definitely hadn’t been prepared for was a man who looked like he’d just walked out of the pages of a Playgirl magazine.

Jet black hair fell past his shoulders, parted exactly in the middle and surrounding a face that might have been chiseled from stone; high forehead, prominent cheekbones, strong jaw line. His wide set eyes were dark, so black she couldn’t find a hint of irises in their depths. Face lightly stubbed, his mouth was generous, full and sensual.

The tell-tale signs of a hard and rugged life had etched themselves into his skin. Scars slashed down his shoulders, his abdomen and legs. Knotted and long healed they hinted deadly claws and jaggedly sharp teeth.

But it was the color of his skin that really made Dakoda sit up and take notice. The shade might have been compared to that of a copper pot, used for ages over an open fire. A thin gash angled above his left eye, still puffy and tender. The line of his nose also wasn’t perfect, as if broken by a foot or the stock of a rifle.

Overall, the effect of viewing him as a whole was stunning. Here was a man who’d lived a hard life, living on the edge as he fought to survive in a land yanked out from under his feet by encroaching civilization.

Assuming he was even real.

Real or not, though, he looked damn good. Larger than life, his masculine presence filled the small cell.

Gazing at him, a final possibility loomed large in the back of Dakoda’s mind, floating out of the shadowy recesses like a red-eyed specter. What if Greg wasn’t the only one who died? Maybe she’d also been hit by the shotgun’s blast. And this place was some kind of limbo, a realm where the normal rules of existence didn’t apply. Logic certainly didn’t.

She looked at the man who’d once been a cougar. “Did I die?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

He grinned. “You’re very much alive.”

Testing the theory, Dakoda gave her cheek a hard pinch, all too aware of the pain. Would the deceased feel any pain? She didn’t think so.

“I’m not supposed to be here,” she informed him for lack of something better to say.

His lips pulled back in a familiar, feral smile. “Shit happens to the best of us.”

His words were delivered as a verbal slap, snapping her back to reality. Not that it was one she wanted to continue experiencing much longer. As it stood, she was locked in a small cell out in the middle of some godforsaken mountain tract, having been kidnapped to be sold as a slave in some twisted animal act to a private seller. And oh, yeah, her partner had been shot dead right in front of her, gunned down in cold blood by a wanted criminal.

Nothing about this day could get any worse…or any more unbelievable.

[ARC Review] - My Unfair Lady

Title: My Unfair Lady
Author: Kathryne Kennedy
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: December 1, 2009

I received this book for review from Sourcebooks.

Summary: He created the perfect woman…

The impoverished Duke of Monchester despises the rich Americans who flock to London, seeking to buy their way into the ranks of the British peerage. So when railroad heiress Summer Wine Lee offers him a king’s ransom if he’ll teach her to become a proper lady, he’s prepared to rebuff her. But when he meets the petite beauty with the knife in her boot, it’s not her fortune he finds impossible to resist…

For the arms of another man

Frontier-bred Summer Wine Lee has no interest in winning over London society—it’s the New York blue bloods and her future mother-in-law she’s determined to impress. She knows the cost of smoothing her rough-and-tumble frontier edges will be high. But she never imagined it might cost her heart…

Thoughts: I was familiar with Kathryn Kennedy's Relics of Merlin, so when I heard she had a new book coming out I was very interested to see what it was all about. I knew I would enjoy it since it was to be set in the Victorian era. My Unfair Lady was a fun read. It was a journey of love, trust and acceptance. Beautiful written. I was captivated by the characters and story. My favorite part was how opposite Summer and Byron were, I found that very interesting. So, different but still drawn to each other. If you are fan of the play Pygmalion or the musical My Fair Lady, there is a good chance you'll enjoy this new spin on a beloved story.

[Promo] - Blood Vice

For those who have been wanting to read this book, but aren't really into ebooks, the wait is almost over. Blood Vice comes out in paperback on December 1st!

Nightfall Syndicate Book #1

Book Summary:

Mafia hit man. Vampire. The criminal underworld just got a whole lot darker.

Business has never been better for hit man Karl Vance. Boston is awash in mafia blood, and Vance has a certain fondness for blood. He’s a master vampire—one of the most powerful of his kind. Having sworn to never again feed on the blood of innocents, Karl preys instead on Boston’s criminal underworld. Which makes him a valuable asset to those who deal in death.

Maria Ricardi intends to use that asset to its full extent in order to gain power within her patriarchal crime family. Vance thinks he’s been hired to keep track of the family’s princess, but she’s got a plan to get her hands dirty and earn the respect she deserves. And she’s not above using their instant attraction to get what she wants.

That driving ambition draws the attention of a rival clan’s newest and most dangerous “consultant.” Alejandro Delgado, Vance’s centuries-old nemesis. Delgado zeroes in on the one chink in Vance’s armor—his fondness for the headstrong Maria.

When she becomes enslaved by Delgado’s unnatural kiss, only one thing is certain. Vance has to decide which he wants more. To settle the score—or rescue her soul.

[ARC Review] - Fallen

Title: Fallen
Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen
Genre: Young Adult
Release Date: December 8, 2009

I received this book for review from Random House/Delacorte Press.

Summary: There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Thoughts: On her first day at reform school, Sword and Cross Academy Luce see Daniel. From that moment she feels drawn to him. He is distant and makes it clear he has no interest in her - but that doesn't put her off.

Fate is an interesting thing. Beautiful & wondrous and at the same time torture and cruel. This is a love story that goes back years, centuries even. A dark, and dangerous romance that stretches into the past that is forever repeating itself.

I spent a good part of the story confused, much like the lead character Luce. Trying to figure out what was going on. Now with that being said, l loved this story. For me it's everything I hope to find when I'm reading YA fantasy. If your reading YA this a must read to add to your list.

Interview with Maggie Stiefvater

5 Questions with Maggie Stiefvater

Thanks to Flux for the Interview Op and Thanks to Maggie for stopping by.

I live in Minnesota and loved that Shiver was set there. What inspired you to set the story in Minnesota?

Because I thought Minnesota would make a great tax-deductible vacation spot? No, I’m kidding (although my husband says, “Why couldn’t you have set SHIVER in Bermuda or something?”). I picked Minnesota because I wanted someplace in the U.S. that already had an existing wolf population, so I could slip my werewolves in unnoticed. Also, I wanted someplace where the difference between summer and winter was well-defined and dramatic, so any place in my home state (Virginia) was out. Also, I lived for a year in Wisconsin, and have relatives in Minnesota, so I didn’t feel I was going completely out on a limb and writing about something totally alien to me.

Since becoming published, what has been your favorite part of the process?

I am terribly fond of seeing my covers. Both the domestic ones and the foreign ones. I just got the Italian edition of SHIVER in the mail and spent far too long reading it (I do not read Italian, in case you’re wondering).

What are 3 things that are "must haves" for you when you sit down to write a new book?

One, I must have tea. Sweet tea or hot tea, one of those. I need caffeine. Two, I must have music playing. Otherwise, all I’ll think about is the laundry I need to do and the emails I need to answer and the presentations I need to polish. Three, I must have a bowl of cookie dough sitting on the counter so that in between chapters, I can run over there and get some to reward myself for prose well written.

When your not writing what kind of books do you like to read?

Anything with pretty prose, complicated sibling relationships, or homicidal supernatural creatures (combining these things is nice) is up my alley. I’ve been working my way down the Alex Award winners lately and they’ve been making me very happy.

Is the Books of Faerie series an open end series or will it be a trilogy too?

In my head, it’s a series of five, but it’s behind a few other things to be written, so we’ll see!

[Series Spotlight] - Divine/Partholon

This is a series I just started reading. So far I've read the prequel, and it looks to be a good series. If you like Fantasy Romance, this series might interest you. All these books originally came out between 2004-2007, they were recently re-issued with new covers. According to goodreads.com this is the reading order...

Divine Beginnings:
(prequel)

Go back in time, fifty years before the events of New York Times bestselling author P.C. Cast's Partholon books...

Something isn't right at Guardian Castle, and Aine can't figure out what. As Healer, she's supposed to be making things better, but there's a darkness that can't be brightened. And then Aine finds an injured Fomorian--winged, dark, blood-thirsty and inherently evil. Or is he? Because there's something about Tegan that Aine can't resist...and once they've shared blood, Aine realizes that everything she's always believed is going to be cast aside....

Divine By Mistake:

The only excitement Shannon Parker expects while on summer vacation is a little shopping. But when an antique vase calls to her, she finds herself transported to Partholon, where she’s treated like a goddess. A very temperamental goddess…

Somehow Shannon has stepped into another’s role as the Goddess Incarnate of Epona. And while there’s an upside – what woman doesn’t like lots of pampering? – it also comes with a ritual marriage to a centaur and threats against her new people. Oh, and everyone disliking her because they think she’s her double.

Somehow Shannon needs to figure out how to get back to Oklahoma without being killed, married to a horse or losing her mind…

Elphame's Choice:

I was marked from birth as belonging to the Goddess Epona--but that didn't make my life easy. Because of my "blessings," I was set apart, worshipped, unable to make real connections with others. Then came the Feeling, and with it a glimpse of my destiny. It led me to the MacCallen castle of legend, deserted since the terrible Fomorian war.

I followed the wordless call to breathe new life into a place long dead, but I didn't realize there were dark remnants of the war lingering in the nearby forest--victims and survivors who remained hidden. Others marked as different, powerful. Feared.

My choice was now twofold. I could keep to the happiness and safety of my newfound home, or I could choose a path that led to something more terrible, more dangerous, more thrilling than anything I'd ever expected.

And in that future I might never be alone again. . .

Brighid's Quest:

Release Date: February 23, 2010

Fleeing her centaur clan's increasingly militant beliefs, Brighid Dhianna has begun to find peace and acceptance among the humans of Clan MacCallan. Still, she agrees to leave her newly formed friendships to guide her clan chieftain's grieving brother home. As she journeys, Brighid discovers that the long-dormant Shaman blood that runs so thickly in her veins will no longer be silenced. As seductive new powers begin to beckon, Brighid glimpses a future that is more impossible -- and more magical -- than any she could have dared to imagine.

But when tragedy summons her back to the Centaur Plains, Brighid must make a decision that will affect not only her friendship with the humans, but the centaur herd and indeed the world. For the Great Goddess Epona has set her on a new path that demands everything she has to give.

When the whole world is turning to her for help, healing the heart of a warrior doesn't sound so daunting . . .

Divine By Choice:

Shannon Parker has finally come to terms with life in the mythical world of Partholon. She loves her centaur husband, her connection to the goddess Epona and the pampering that comes with both! She’s almost forgotten her old life on Earth – especially when she discovers she’s pregnant…

Then a sudden burst of power sends her back to Oklahoma. Without magic, Shannon can’t return to Partholon – and so she needs to find help. Trouble is, it might take the form of a man as tempting as her husband. And along the way she’ll discover that being divine by mistake is a lot easier than being divine by choice…

Divine By Blood:

Conceived in a lie and trapped in a tree throughout her gestation, Morrigan’s birth was truly magical. After that start, she spent the next eighteen years raised as a normal girl in Oklahoma.

Upon discovering the truth of her heritage, her rage and grief take on a power of their own, carrying her back to the world of Partholon. Yet, instead of being respected as the daughter of the Goddess Incarnate, Morrigan feels like a shunned outsider.

In her desperation to belong to Partholon, she confronts forces she can’t fully understand or control. And soon a strange darkness draws closer…

[Review] - Nefertiti by Michelle Moran

Title: Nefertiti
Author: Michelle Moran
Genre: Historical Fiction
Release Date: July 9, 2007

Summary: Beautiful Nefertiti and her sister, Mutnodjmet, have been raised far from the court of their aunt, the Queen of Egypt. But when the Pharaoh of Egypt dies, their father’s power play makes Nefertiti wife to the new and impetuous king. It is hoped she will temper King Amunhotep’s desire to overturn Egypt’s religion, but the ambitious Nefertiti encourages Amunhotep’s outrageous plans instead, winning the adoration of the people while making powerful enemies at court. Younger yet more prudent, Mutnodjmet is her sister’s sole confidant, and only she knows to what lengths Nefertiti will go for a child to replace the son of Amunhotep’s first wife.

As King Amunhotep’s commands become more extravagant, he and Nefertiti ostracize the army, clergy, and Egypt’s most powerful allies. Then, when Mutnodjmet begins a dangerous affair with a general, she sees how tenuous her situation is at her own sister’s court.

Thoughts: Nefertiti is told from the point of view of Nefertiti's sister, Mutnodjmet. This is as much Mutnodjmet story, as it is Nefertiti's. This story starts in 1351 BCE to 1335 BCE.

While there is no one today that knows for sure what Nefertiti and Mutnodjmet's personalities or views were like, the author has done a beautiful job of bringing them to life. I was absolutely transfixed by this book. This is a very powerful and compelling story that I highly enjoyed.

Nefertiti isn't seen in a good light in this book, at least that is what I've taken from reading this story. From the moment she marries Akhenaten, Mutnodjmet becomes her servant bordering on personal slave. I really felt for Mutnodjmet. She was put into such a terrible position, both by her sister and father and their lust for power. Everything about this book pulls you in and will intrigue the reader to the last page. If you ever wonder what Ancient Egypt was like, Michelle Moran will transport you to a different world.

[ARC Review] - If He's Sinful

Title: If He's Sinful
Author: Hannah Howell
Series: Wherlocke
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: November 24, 2009

I received this book for review from Lessard Public Relations

Summary: It is whispered throughout London that the members of the Wherlocke family are possessed of certain unexplainable gifts. But Lord Ashton Radmoor is skeptical - until he finds an innocent beauty lying drugged and helpless in the bedroom of a brothel.

The mystery woman is Penelope Wherlocke, and her special gift of sight is leading her deep into a dangerous world of treachery and betrayal. Ashton knows he should forget her, yet he's drawn deeper into the vortex of her life, determined to keep her safe. But Penelope is no ordinary woman, and she's never met the man strong enough to contend with her unusual abilities. Until now...

Thoughts: This was my first time reading a book by Hannah Howell. She's one of those authors I've been wanting to read for along time. I'm glad I did too, this book was an enjoyable read. This is the 2nd book in the series. I don't usually read book series out of order, but I had no trouble following along with this installment. If He's Sinful, pulled me in with the intrigue behind the Wherlocke family gifts and the beautiful romance between Lord Ashton and Penelope. If you love Historicals, I don't doubt you'll enjoy this one too.

Night Huntress World #1
February 9, 2010

The night is not safe for mortals.

Denise MacGregor knows all too well what lurks in the shadows – her best friend is half-vampire Cat Crawfield – and she has already lost more than the average human could bear. But her family's dark past is wrapped in secrets and shrouded in darkness – and a demon shapeshifter has marked Denise as prey.

Now her survival depends on an immortal who craves a taste of her.

He is Spade, a powerful, mysterious vampire who has walked the earth for centuries and is now duty-bound to protect this endangered, alluring human – even if it means destroying his own kind. Denise may arouse his deepest hungers, but Spade knows he must fight his urge to have her as they face the demon nightmare together...

Because once the first drop of crimson falls, they will both be lost.

Women of the Otherworld #11
August 3, 2010

The orphaned daughter of a sorcerer and a half-demon, Savannah is a terrifyingly powerful young witch who has never been able to resist the chance to throw her magical weight around. But at 21 she knows she needs to grow up and prove to her guardians, Paige and Lucas, that she can be a responsible member of their supernatural detective agency. So she jumps at the chance to fly solo, investigating the mysterious deaths of three young women in a nearby factory town as a favour to one of the agency's associates. At first glance, the murders look garden-variety human, but on closer inspection signs point to otherworldly stakes.

Soon Savannah is in over her head. She's run off the road and nearly killed, haunted by a mystery stalker, and freaked out when the brother of one of the dead women is murdered when he tries to investigate the crime. To complicate things, something weird is happening to her powers. Pitted against shamans, demons, a voodoo-inflected cult and garden-variety goons, Savannah has to fight to ensure her first case isn't her last. And she also has to ask for help, perhaps the hardest lesson she's ever had to learn.

[Review & Giveaway] - To Desire A Devil

Title: To Desire A Devil
Author: Elizabeth Hoyt
Series: Legend of the Four Soldiers
Genre: Historical Romance
Year: 2009

I received this book for review from Hachette Book Group.

Summary: NOTHING IS MORE INTOXICATING

Reynaud St. Aubyn has spent the last seven years in hellish captivity. Now half mad with fever he bursts into his ancestral home and demands his due. Can this wild-looking man truly be the last earl’s heir, thought murdered by Indians years ago?

OR DANGEROUS

Beatrice Corning, the niece of the present earl, is a proper English miss. But she has a secret: No real man has ever excited her more than the handsome youth in the portrait in her uncle’s home. Suddenly, that very man is here, in the flesh—and luring her into his bed.

THAN SURRENDERING TO A DEVIL.

Only Beatrice can see past Reynaud’s savagery to the noble man inside. For his part, Reynaud is drawn to this lovely lady, even as he is suspicious of her loyalty to her uncle. But can Beatrice’s love tame a man who will stop at nothing to regain his title—even if it means sacrificing her innocence?

Thoughts: Reynaud St. Aubyn has just returned home after 7 long years of being held captive. Tortured and half crazy, he can't comprehend why there are strangers in his home and with his title. But then he meets Beatrice the niece of the new Earl and he is drawn to her like no other.

All through the first three books it's known (at least at the time) and assumed that Reynaud St. Aubyn died in the American Colonies. Tortured and killed by Indians. This event was witnessed by his friend and fellow soldiers. So, it's quite a big shock when he arrives back in town.

My first impressions of Reynaud aren't that great. He is cranky and pretty much an ass. Of course, he has good reason because of what he's gone through. But Beatrice comes along and she soothes the savage beast, and shows him how to live again.

To Desire A Devil is the last book in the series. I'm sad to see it come to an end, but Elizabeth Hoyt has done a great job bring things to a close. Reynaud & Beatrice story was intriguing, romantic and at times bit suspenseful. Good read!

Guest Blog & Giveaway with Judi Fennell

Today, I'm very excited to welcome author Judi Fennell to my blog.
Judi, Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Anna—thanks for having me here today on your blog! I thought I’d let my characters do the talking, and there were a couple in particular who I knew would LOVE to have the opportunity to be in the forefront for once. So without further ado, enjoy this interview between two birds who definitely don’t go along with the rest of the flock…

Good morning people! I'm assuming you're all people, right? I mean, while we avians are incredibly talented, feathers aren't the best appendages for operating computer keyboards and beaks tend to destroy the plastic keys.

Anyhoo, my name is Maybelle Merriweather, house sparrow in charge of the town watch and up-and-coming member of the Air Security Agency in the land-based division for the Atlantian government. I've been asked to conduct an interview with the Chief of the ASA, Mr. Livingston Gull, on the successful completion of his security detail for Mer Prince, Rod Tritone and his mission to bring Mer princess, Valerie Dumere, back to Atlantis. Chronicled in Wild Blue Under, the mission is the second in the series of Atlantian adventures by our author, Judi Fennell.

Chief Livingston, who flew through the ranks to land the top spot at the agency in record time, has taken time from his hectic schedule to visit with us, so, please welcome Livingston Gull.

(applause welcome here)

Maybelle: So, Livingston—may I call you that? How does it feel to be the fastest rising star in the ASA?

Livingston: Thank you Maybelle, and, actually, I'd prefer "Chief." I appreciate the honor and thank you for having me. I must say, it's not every day I get interviewed for doing my job. As to the fastest rising thing, I just did my job, you know? Worked hard, followed the rules, keep my beak to the grindstone and take advantage when opportunity presents itself. Always be prepared—it's the Gull Scouts' motto. You need to remember that.

Maybelle: Um, yeah. Sure. So, ahem, what strengths do you think helped you to attain your lofty career?

Livingston: Well, the three hundred wing lifts I do every day don't hurt. It bulks up the muscles, which improves aerodynamics and keeps the feathers in pristine condition. Then there are the weather charts and topo maps, currents and wind sheer charts, Doppler readings, etc. that I study with my morning breakfish. Aerial maneuvers keep my reflexes sharp, basic training, that sort of thing. The ASA is all about being the best you can be.

Maybelle: Protecting the Mer Heir is an important position, so I've heard that only the best of the best reach the top echelons of service.

Livingston: (coughs) Well, I aim to serve.

Maybelle: But sometimes things don't always go as planned, as I see from reading Wild Blue Under. They did go according to my plan, however, if you read my chapters.

Livingston: (arches one eyebrow at our intrepid interviewer) That's why we train for any eventuality. In today's world, you have to be braced for anything. Able to respond on the fly. Our instruction and training missions are aimed to create the best of the best. Everyone wants to be one of us. The few. The proud. The mariners.

Maybelle: Mariners? Hmmph. Okaaaay… So, how did this attitude and training help you adapt to the quick series of events that transpired once Rod arrived in Valerie's town? If you recall, she wasn't all that keen on following him off into the wild blue under?

Livingston: Would you be? That was one area The Oceanic Council had gotten all hubris-y over. They never expected someone to scoff at the idea of an inheritance. No one guessed that Valerie wouldn't want to accompany Rod. (looks around then holds one wing in front of his beak and leans in to whisper) The Council does tend to get caught up in their own importance.

Maybelle: But you were able to keep the prince and princess on course?

Livingston: (fluffs breast feathers, making the tattooed star there ripple) My mission was to ensure that Rod and Valerie arrived safely and if it meant pulling in every available avian in the vicinity—yourself included—so be it. I did what needed to be done, and never, never, never gave up. The members of the ASA always get our Mer.

Maybelle: Um, as I recall, you weren't all that keen on me helping you.

Livingston: Helping is one thing. Interfering is another.

Maybelle: (Hrmphs again. ) So, can you tell us about your tattoo? I've never seen a herring gull with a black star on his white breast feathers.

Livingston: (fluffs breast feathers some more) Well, because of my quick ascent through the ranks, I was awarded the Order of the Star. Now, being a herring gull, I have no place to carry such an award, so I had it tattooed onto my chest. A badge of honor, if you will. Amphitroe the Octopus runs a clean tattoo parlor off the coast of New Jersey and she handled it for me. Mention my name and she'll give you a 10% discount.

Maybelle: I'll take a pass on that, thanks. And thank you for swooping in for a visit today. Is there anything you'd like to add?

Livingston: Actually, there is.

Maybelle: Figures.

Livingston: Excuse me?

Maybelle: Oh, nothing. Please continue.

Livingston: I intend to.

Maybelle: Shocker.

Livingston: Did you say something?

Maybelle: (makes shoo-ing motions with her lovely brown feathers). You were saying you wanted to add something for our readers?

Livingston: (gives Maybelle the evil eye with his beady little gull eye). Right. I'd like to add that our author has collaborated with a lovely bed & breakfast, the Atlantis Inn (can you imagine a more perfect title, btw?) in Ocean City, NJ where Reel has his home, and Rod and Val spend some time, to offer a romantic beach getaway weekend. You can see pictures of the property at http://www.atlantisinn.com/ and can register to win at Judi's website, http://www.judifennell.com/. Even better, she's teamed up with the Hibiscus House B&B in West Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate the release of Angel and Logan's story for a third getaway weekend, and if you register for the Wild Blue Under November 30 drawing, you'll also be registered for the February 28, 2010 drawing for Catch of a Lifetime. So coast on by and sign up today! Who knows, you might be lucky enough to meet me. I tend to check up on the guests.

Maybelle: Of course you do.

Livingston: Pardon?

Maybelle: Never mind. This is Maybelle Merriweather signing off. Look for my heroics in helping the prince and his princess reach the Wild Blue Under and have a blustery day!
