[ARC Review] - The Taming of the Wolf

Title: The Taming of the Wolf
Author: Lydia Dare
Series: Historical Paranormal Romance
Release Date: November 1, 2010

I received this book for review from Sourcebooks.

Summary: HE COULD NEVER LOSE CONTROL...

Dashiel Thorpe, Earl of Brimsworth, has spent his life fighting the wolf within him. But when the full moon rises, Dash is helpless. A chance encounter with Caitrin Macleod on a moonlit night inadvertently binds the two together irrevocably, and Dash's impulsiveness plunges them both into a nightmare.

SHE NEVER SAW HIM COMING...

Caitrin Macleod is no quiet country lass, but a witch we remarkable abilities. But when it comes to Dashiel, she's as helpless to fight his true nature as he is. Her senses overwhelmed, she runs back to the safety and security of her native Scotland.

But Dashiel is determined to follow her--she's the only woman who can free him from a fate worse than death. And Caitrin will ultimately have to decided whether she's running from danger, or true love.

Thoughts: Caitrin Macleod has visions of the future. When she starts having visions of a gold wolf causing all sorts of trouble, she worries but has no clue it will involve her. Dashiel Thorpe's foolish act on a full moon will not only change his life - but Caitrin's as well.

The Taming of the Wolf is a an absolutely fun read, a stellar addition to the series. Caitrin and Dashiel play a game of flirtatious -  push and pull, cat and mouse and it was interesting to see it play out.  Caitrin first appeared in Tall, Dark and Wolfish. While she meant well, I found her a bit annoying. Even though she is a stubborn lass through out her story, she definitely grows on me. It is pretty much the same for Dashiel. He appears in the The Wolf Next Door, causing all sorts of trouble. But in the end he becomes quite a lovable character.

Not only do Caitrin and Dashiel find love and passion with each other. But serenity and compassion play a big role. Something both characters need dearly.
