[ARC Review] - Happy Hour of the Damned

Title: Happy Hour of the Damned
Author: Mark Henry
Series: Amanda Feral
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Year: 2008

I received this book for review from the author.

Summary: Making her way through a dangerous world of cloud-doped bloodsuckers, reapers, horny and horned devils, werewolves, celebrities, and PR-obsessed shapeshifters-not to mention an extremely hot bartender named Ricardo-isn't easy. And the minute one of Amanda's undead friends disappears after texting the word, "help" (The undead-so dramatic!) she knows the afterlife is about to get really ugly.

Something sinister is at hand. Someone or something is hellbent on turning Seattle's undead underworld into a place of true terror. And this time, Amanda may meet a fate a lot worse than death.

Thoughts: First I have to say I loved, loved this book. It was dark, sexy and funny. It's like no other book out there. Especially for an Urban Fantasy. If your a fan of Urban Fantasy novels, Happy Hour of the Damned is definitely a must read!

I met Mark Henry by way of MySpace. Before I knew what his book was about I seen the cover art and was pretty much hooked. It's a pretty great cover as you can see above. The art department really out did themselves. And lets face it, in the past there have been some pretty terrible covers. To the point where the people on the cover look nothing like what the characters actually do.

Our heroine... Amanda is sassy, catty, a fun fashionista party girl, laugh out loud funny and a zombie to boot. She's not your father's type of zombies. She maybe be a flesh eating zombie, but she does it with style. For as she puts it she's "Hot as Hell"

Score: 4 Stars

  1. I keep seeing this book everywhere, and Mark Henry was the guest blogger on Dionne Galace's blog.... http://dionnegalace.com/wordpress/.
He's very funny. I imagine his novel would be just as entertaining. But man, these trade books make a huge dent in the wallet! :(

  2. He is funny and it comes through in his writing. I don't read many guy authors that write a women characters, but he does it very well.

Yes, they are a bit price. I always hit overstock.com, cause their prices are always cheaper.
