Title: Infinity
Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Series: Chronicles of Nick
Genre: Young Adult
Release Date: May 25, 2010
Summary: At 14, Nick Gautier is an average kid who runs with the wrong crowd. But on the night he decides to go straight and refuses to mug an innocent tourist, his crew turns on him and just as he thinks his life is over... a new one begins.
Kyrian of Thrace isn't just a vampire slayer, he's a Dark-Hunter and he introduces Nick to a world that he never imagined.
With new enemies who make his old ones look like wimps, Nick must either measure up or get sized for a body bag. It's kill or be killed and this kid who was born on the wrong side finds a strength inside him that he never knew existed.
Now if he can only find someone to help battle the demons that don't reside inside him.
Thoughts: Nick is a kid from the Lower Ninth just trying to make it through the day. To survive high school. But Nick is not your normal teenager, he is so much more. One bad decision changes everything for him and he enters a world he never knew existed.
For someone who is already a fan of the Dark-Hunters and a Nick fan, I loved this book. We get to see where Nick began and the incident that leads to him meeting Kyrian. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil either series. But this was a fun story, full of the action and the humor we come to expect in a Kenyon novel. While there are new characters to enjoy, there are also a lot of familiar faces that I think will tickle fans of the Dark-Hunters with delight. Infinity is a page turner and I believe it'll be a fun read whether your new to this series or a die-hard fan.

I mean I like the sound of this one, but then I read that she planned like 12 books and sadly I thought hell no!
ReplyDeleteThis is next up in my TBR pile - I've been seeing good reviews so I'm excited about reading it.
ReplyDeleteGreat review!
ReplyDeleteCan this book be read before reading the other series?
I am reading this right now but didn't realize it was in a series. I was thinking it was a first in YA for her.
ReplyDeleteI know the story is gonna lead up to his adult book in the DH series. But I hadn't heard how books there would be. I love this series, so I'll be reading however many are released.
ReplyDeleteAmy J...
ReplyDeleteYes you'll be ok reading Infinity without having read the Dark-Hunters series.
Wicked Walker,
ReplyDeleteThis is her first YA novel. But we first meet Nick in her Dark-Hunters series as an adult. He's 24 or 25 and Infinity he's 14. Dark-Hunters and Chronicles of Nick are two separate series, but they take place in the same world.
Anna,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this one. :)
