Interview & Giveaway with Chloe Neill

It's pleasure to welcome Chloe Neill, author of Chicagoland Vampires & the Dark Elite to my blog....

Hi Chloe, Welcome to Anna's Book Blog! I'm glad to have you here. To start off can you tell the readers a little about yourself?
Thanks for having me! Sure. I'm originally from the southern part of the United States, but I now live in the Midwest with my soon-to-be-husband and our two dogs, Baxter and Scout. I have a day job, so writing is my evening "hobby." :)

Hexbound is your latest release, can you tells us a little about it and the series?
HEXBOUND is the follow-up to FIRESPELL, which was the first book in the Dark Elite series. In HEXBOUND, Lily and Scout, students at St. Sophia's School for Girls, have discovered something nasty running about in the tunnels beneath the city and must use all their magical skills to deal with it.

What is your writing day like?
I have a day job, so I only write in the evenings and on the weekends. Usually it's a few hours on the couch with my laptop after dinner and chores.

When you're not writing what kind of books do you like to read?

I don't have a lot of time to read right now because of my writing schedule, but I really like Diana Gabaldon, Neil Gaiman and J.D. Robb.

What are 3 things that are "must haves" for you when you sit down to write a book?
A laptop and two quiet dogs. :)

What inspired you the most when writing Hexbound?
Probably the opportunity to make a set of new spells and magical charms for Lily and Scout to use. I had a lot of fun putting those together!

If you had a magical talent like Lily's what would it be?
I have always wanted to fly!

Do you see Dark Elite having an end or do you feel it's an open ended series?

There are currently three books under contract, but there are definitely opportunities for the series to continue. I think there are lots of possibilities for Lily and Scout to continue getting into adventures.

Both Chicagoland Vampires & Dark Elite are active series for you, but can you tell us what is up next?
I am currently writing DRINK DEEP, the fifth book in the Chicagoland Vampires series. Once I'm done with that, I'll write the third Dark Elite book!

Thanks for having me today!

HEXBOUND
By: Chloe Neill

Out Now!

Lily Parker is new to St. Sophia’s School for Girls, but she’s already learned that magic can be your best friend…or your worst enemy.

They say absolute power corrupts absolutely. Turns out, even a little magic can turn you to the dark side. That’s why Lily has to learn how to control her newly discovered paranormal abilities, on top of avoiding the snobs who think they run her school, nursing a crush on a cute sophomore with a big, werewolf-y secret, and fighting the good fight with her best friend Scout as they take on Chicago’s nastiest nightlife—including the tainted magic users known as Reapers.

Then Lily’s invited to a private meeting with Sebastian. He’s hot, powerful, and offering to help her harness the magic flowing in her veins in a way no one else can. He’s also a Reaper. Lily can’t hide her suspicions. But she’ll soon find out that the line between good and evil isn’t always clear…

  29. I love this book! Neill's books became fast favorites last summer when I needed a world to escape to after a day of chasing a three year old around. Scout and Lily remind me of my best friend and me in high school... well minus the magic!
