[Review]: Star Wars Epic Yarns by Jack & Holman Wang

Star Wars® Epic Yarns that tells the story of each of the first three Star Wars movies in just 12 words and 12 iconic scenes depicted in incredibly detailed – and adorable – needle felt.

Thoughts: I'm a Star Wars fan, of both the movies and books. I have to say the Star Wars Epic Yarns are one of the cutest Star Wars products I've come across. All three books were a delight. The yarn figures are a wonder and perfect to the last detail. These books are a great way to introduce the Star Wars universe to the little ones in your family. I look forward to sharing these books with my niece's kids.

[Review]: Star Wars: Lost Stars by Claudia Gray

Title: Lost Stars
Author: Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Genre: Young Adult
Release Date: September 4, 2015

Summary:  The reign of the Galactic Empire has reached the Outer Rim of Jelucan, where aristocratic Thane Kyrell and rural villager Ciena Ree bond over their love of flying. Enrolling at the Imperial Academy is nothing less than a dream come true for both of them. But Thane sours on the dream when he sees firsthand the horrific tactics the Empire uses to maintain it's ironclad rule.

Bitter and disillusioned, he joins the fledgling Rebellion--putting Ciena in an unbearable position between her loyalty to the Empire and her love for the man she's known since childhood.

Now on opposite sides of the war, will these friends turned foes ever find a way to be together, or will duty tear them--and the galaxy--apart?

Star Wars: Lost Stars includes all-new post- Star Wars: Return of the Jedi content, as well as clues about the upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Thoughts: Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell are only 8 when they become the best of friends.   Ciena is from the valley, while Thane is a second waver and comes from a wealthy family. But they don't care. They are friends and love flying together with hopes of going to the Imperial Academy. What they don't know is how evil the Empire is or how the war will change their lives in the most shocking ways.

This was a fantastic read. I've read a few Star Wars books, but so for this is my favorite. It's a bit of long read at 551, but definitely worth the time.  Lost Stars takes place during the Galactic Civil War. Revisit the Death Star and it's destruction, Battle of Hoth & the Battle of Endor, this time from the point of view of Thane and Ciena.  If your a Star Wars fan and thinking of skipping this one because it YA, don't. It's damn good read and it has everything you love about the movies.

Score: 4 Stars
