What I've Been Reading

A Fragile Trust By: Helen Kirkman- This is the first book in the Warriors of the Dragon Banner. It was the first time I read Helen Kirkman, and I really enjoyed. It takes place during the Viking era. While the action in the story really didn't move me at all, I did enjoy the relationship between Ash and Gemma. They were what kept me reading.

Angel's Pain By: Maggie Shayne- This is the 15th book in the Wings in the Night series. Out of the last three books in the series this latest installment is my favorite. I was happy to see Reaper & Briar finally get their HEA. Though I will say the title really doesn't make since, there is no Angel. I know some readers think this series started with Demon's Kiss. But if you get a chance you should go back and read books 1-12, it really a great series.

Living With The Dead By: Kelley Armstrong- This is book 9 in the Women of the Otherworld series, and one of my favorite series. Sadly this is my least favorite book in the series. New characters Robyn and Finn were introduced in this book. For me it just was really slow going. I didn't enjoy it has much as the other books in the series. It was nice to see Hope and Karl again, who have appeared in other books.

Revelation By: Patrice Michelle- Book 3 in the Scions series from the Nocturne line. While I have enjoyed all of the books (Resurrection, Insurrection & Revelation), this one has got be my favorite to date. The sexy werewolf Caine was fun to read. It was steamy and action packed.

Demon Bound By: Meljean Brook- Book 7 in The Guardian series. Although it took me a few chapters to get into the story, I really enjoyed this one. For a little bit the relationship between Jake and Alice seemed a bit strange... but I ended up like them in the end. Colin & Savitri from Demon Moon are still my favorite though.

  2. I haven't read any of these either. Like I said, I've been stuck in the vampire phaze. I did pick up a few paranormals that were not vampire to read. So, hopefully I will enjoy them.

And Amy, 5:53 AM HOLY (beep) Damn woman what time do you wake up. I'm still on my second dream at that time, lol!

  3. Damn, that is early. But then I didn't fall asleep until after 3am.

I was stuck on just vampires for the longest time too.

  4. The time is off, it should be 6:53. But sometimes I do get up at 6 :). Once I wake u it's hard for me to go back to sleep AND I'm usually asleep by 10. Gah, I'm so lame. I can't even stay up late!

I never really got into too many vampire books. JR Ward, Jenna Black, Lara Adrian, maybe one or two others, but the others I think there is more than just vamps that make up those worlds. I don't consider SK vampire books, so she's not included. I've read a few others but not that many.

  5. Ever since reading Anne Rice's book I've loved reading vampires. But I like shape-shifters and other supes too.

  6. I think I've read Maggie Shayne since the name sounds familiar. Since I'm working through a few series right now I'm putting Otherworld on hold. Maybe at some point I'll try Meljean again but I just couldn't finish that first book.

  7. Anne Rice was my first venture into Vampires also. It was her books that turned me to fantasy, which then turned me to romance. And now, I am exrtemely reluctant to stray from roamnce and when I do, I get bored quickly.

I started reading a book by Bujold, which I loved the first two (that was pre-romance) and now I'm trying to read this third one and am having one heck of a time getting into. But I think it's the story line. Maybe not so much that it's nonromance. I don't know. :)
