Shots & Book Shopping

Today I went to see my Rheumatoidologist (arthritis dr). I've been feeling good so I didn't have too much to report, except some really bad headaches back at the beginning of December. I wasn't sure there was a connection but I mention it anyway. So my doctor comes around and pushes down on my shoulders and my neck. OMG, that man is lucky I didn't back hand him... it hurt so bad. So, he gets out his pen and starts marking spots. That is never a good sign when that happens. In the end I got a shot in each shoulder and a shot on each side of my neck. Yes 4 needles.. ugh I really hate getting shots. But these weren't has bad as when I got one in my knee.

Afterwards it was all worth it cause I went book shopping. :) I've been saving up my gift cards from Christmas so I was able to get more than I usually do. I got:

A Mermaid's Kiss- Joey W. Hill

Seeing Eye Mate- Annmarie McKenna

Kiss of a Demon King- Kresley Cole

Night Huntress- Yasmine Galenorn

Child of a Dead God- Barb & J.C. Hendee

Witch Heart- Anya Bast

An Offer From A Gentleman- Julia Quinn

Romancing Mr. Bridgerton- Julia Quinn

Someone to Watch Over Me- Lisa Kleypas

To Taste Temptation- Elizabeth Hoyt

Bound To Please- Hope Tarr

Dragon Bones- Patricia Briggs

  2. Thanks Barbara! :)

I did have Mermaid's Kiss on my paperback swap list, but I was like number 62. LOL! So, I just decided to buy it. Didn't want to wait that long.

I'm a bit stiff in the neck where the needle went in. But otherwise I'm good. Hopefully the shots will help.

  3. If I had to get 4 shots I would have bought out the whole bookstore!

I've read Bound To Please and enjoyed it. I'm not sure how "historically accurate" it was LOL - but it was a quick, hot read and hit the spot.

  4. Ugh, I don't like going to the doc. But at least the bookstore trip made it worth it.

I have A Mermaid's Kiss. I'm looking forward to reading it. I hope it's good. It has great cover art.

  5. Anna:

You poor thing! I do hope you are feeling better. That sounds so painful.

"A Mermaid's Kiss", is one of my favorites from 2008, it is one of my "breathless", books. lol I just loved Anna and Jonah's story.

I've also read Seeing Eye Mate, it's pretty good - very hot. I didn't like the sequel as much.

I'd love to know your opinion of the Yasmine Galenorn novel and also "Witch Heart", by Anya Bast.

Looks like a great selection of books Anna.

Again, I hope you feel better.

  6. Wendy... LOL! that was very tempting.

Amy... I know the feeling, I hate going too. Good thing about this doctor is I only have to every 3 or 4 months.

I love the cover art of Mermaid's Kiss I've been meaning to pick it up for a while.

Thanks Lea! I've been wanting to read Seeing Eye Mate for the longest time. I have read Yasmine's other books and enjoyed them, hopefully this one is just as good.

I was feeling good earlier. But now I'm really stiff in the areas the needles went in. Hurts quite a bit, but I'm a wuss when it comes to pain. LOL! I'm sure it'll be better in the morning.

    :)

  7. Ouch!! That really stinks about the shots, but I hope they help ease your pain at least.

And book shopping sure did end your day on a better note, I bet! I see Kiss of a Demon King is available early. That one's on my list! :)

  8. Thanks Christine, I'm hoping they work too.

I'm glad I came across Kiss of a Demon King a bit early... cause i have a feeling Wal-mart won't have it. But they probably will now that I've found a copy. LOL!

  9. Ha! Barbara made it here first! We did dinner and a family movie at home last night.

Great books, it's going to the book store wonderful!

Barbara, I have psoriatic arthritis (RA was ruled out), all over my body and just got diagnosed. Will visit my doc Monday, ugh! Living up north must not be fun. It's in the 40's at night in FL and it's AWFUL!

    Hope you feel better, C

  10. I actually have JRA, but I hate typing the whole dang thing out. It just means I've had the arthritis since I was really young.

It's not always fun leaving in the north. But I've lived here most of my life so i've gotten use it a bit. But there are bad days. Like today when it's -27 outside. 40 degrees would sound good right about now. LOL!
