Title: Night's Rose
Author: Annaliese Evans
Series: Night's Rose
Genre: Historical Urban Fantasy
Year: 2009
Summary: For nearly one hundred years, Rosemarie Edenberg has worked tirelessly to wipe the dreaded ogre tribe from the earth. Now the tribe has gathered in London to work a spell that will destroy the scourge of their kind, the one they call the Briar Rose.
Two magnetic men will unite to aid Rose--her mysterious fey advisor, Ambrose, and the vampire Lord Shenley, an earl of scandalous reputation and even more scandalous appetites. One will save her, one will betray her, and both will challenge her to face the past that haunts her.
Once upon a time, she was ensnared in the mists of enchantment, cursed to sleep one hundred years. But this beauty wasn't awakened with a kiss and has never known happily ever after. But with the help of her handsome allies, Rose may find it yet.
Thoughts: This is a Historical Urban Fantasy... with a faerie tale twist. Sleeping Beauty to be more specific. I've never been a fan of Sleeping Beauty, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book, more than I thought I would.
This was an enchanting story. With all sorts of species from fantasy: ogre's, fairies, elves, trolls, vampires. Plus Rose has two very sexy companions, Ambrose and Lord Shenley who make the story even more intriguing. The three of them have a very interesting dynamic and I can't wait to see what unfolds for them in the next book.

Hi Anna!
ReplyDeleteNight's Rose sounds excellent and I'd really like to know how you find these books! It is another to add to my wish list, which is threatening to over take the dread to be read pile. Have read Moning's Fever Series?
Dottie :)
I want this book just because the cover is so good! It's beautiful, sounds good too.
ReplyDeleteI am so curious to see how the relationship between the three will be in the next book. I had asked Ms. Evans and she hinted at a menage :). So that makes me wonder what will transpire between Ambrose and Gareth. How will the tension be if they should be in a situation like that.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it!
This book sounds really good! Just added it to my wish list:)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Anna:
ReplyDeleteI picked up this book this past Friday and am looking forward to the read. Both you and Amy certainly have given it great accolades!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Warm Regards
L
I am so excited for the sequel. Great book! Hot vampire and fairy love.
ReplyDeleteDottie...
ReplyDeleteWell I heard about this book from AmyC. But normally I usually find my books on Amazon or at Fantastic Fiction- http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/
I tried to read Darkfever, but couldn't get into it. At the time I was really burned out on fae stories. But I hear nothing but good things about it. I really loved her Highlander seris.
AmyC...
I think you I remember reading that in one of your comments. Menage.. hmmm should be very interesting. LOL!
Hi Anna!
ReplyDeleteIf you'd like to try DarkFever again, she has it on a podcast and since you have that nifty ipod touch, (which I am coveting), you could put it on there and listen instead of reading it. I've read the book, but downloaded the podcast to listen again, it is excellent. She even has a widget for it, I have it on my blog. The Highlander Series is excellent too, my favorite is Dark Highlander. Those twins are something else. lol.
Dottie :)
Yes, I like the MacKeltar Twins too. Kiss of the Highlander is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteHey Anna!
ReplyDeleteThe cover of 'Night's Rose' is stunning. AmyC reviewed this a while ago and she liked it too. Straight fantasy isn't usually my fave but the dynamic between the three characters sounds interesting.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Happy BDB Week!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sending me Passion Unleashed! I updated the post giving you the credit you deserve;)
ReplyDeleteNow this is neat! How have I not heard of it before?! Love a re-telling of a fairy tale and Sleeping Beauty is one of the best. I hope my library gets this one in soon!
ReplyDeleteGaaah, I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings and the cover for this is gorgeous. But can my TBR pile take the strain????
