The first four books originally were published in the early 1990's. Then in 2007 and 2008 they were released with new covers in the omnibus edtions. This year, a new book was released called Nightfall. So far I've just read the first two books and really enjoyed them. The series has been turned into a tv series that will air this fall on The CW. I do hope they wont make them into an idiotic teen show with drama, drama and more teen drama

I loved this books! I didn't read them until they were reprinted in the 2000s, but I feel in love with Smith's work instantly. And I'm glad that after so many years, she decided to write more in the series (book 5) and she still has to write more, because if you've read that one, you know it ends on another huge cliff hanger. Argh. Lol. Plus she mentioned doing Damen's book one day...
ReplyDeleteI hope they do a good job on the TV show, otherwise I'll be mad. I hate when the mess up good books by trying to make movies or shows out of them, and doing a crappy job at it.
Oh, and just a bit of advice to others, if you've read Vampire Diaries (or even if you haven't), I would strongly suggest you make sure to read her other books as well, Night World series and Secret Circle series. Love them all. Great author, even though she's been around and writing for, what, 20 years or more?
