My mom & I decided to take a trip to Como Park Zoo today. It had been ages since we last went. We use to go every spring when I was little. It was interesting to see all of the changes. I took a bunch of pictures, here are some of my favorites....
We couldn't get into the Primate house cause it was soo packed.
But this guy was outside hanging out.

I love the picture of the Sunken Garden and Giraffe!
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys had a great time. I love the pictures. :) I hope it wasn't too hot for you.
Nice haul at the book store. I can't wait for Prey so let me know what you think about it. :)

That's a lovely zoo. So much fancier than the one we have here!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that baby giraffe is absolutely the cutest thing ever.
I'm torn between the close up of the lion's nose and the baby giraffe. You got some great shots!
ReplyDeleteAww **jealous** I am glad that you some great pictures at the zoo. Every time I take Brooke, poor thing, the animals are sleeping. But I do love your pictures!!! And girl, what luck that there was a book store on your way home... How would have known...
ReplyDeleteloved the pics of the garden and conservatory.
ReplyDeleteI just got done reading Deeper. I LOVED IT!
Thanks Guys!
ReplyDeleteActually we got there when it was just opening, so most of the cats were still asleep or just waking up, but it was still good fun.
Sadly we didn't get to see the Polar Bears, they are "vacationing" in Detroit until their expanded habitation is built.
It was about 85 with low humidity. But it could have been a bit more windy.
Anna! OMG, the conservatory is GORGEOUS!! Beautiful pics :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara!
ReplyDeleteThe baby giraffe is adorable! You've picked out great books at Barnes and Nobles. =)
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of the lion, especially the close up, that's awesome. The observatory is just beautiful, I could in a place like that and read for hours. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHmm, I know how the B&Ns just "happens" to be there along the way. ;)
Nice load of books, I have Staked on my wishlist. And I have to get started on the Werecats series. Red-Headed Stepchild was a fun read.

Those sleeping big cats remind me of my sleeping domestic cat - at times like this, you can so tell they're related, no matter how distantly ;-)
ReplyDeleteLol, just happened too, I see ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, that zoom sure did it's job! Amazing, and adorable
Beautiful pictures, loved the big cats! Not so many over here...
ReplyDeleteGreat books, made me want to go to the bookstore too!
It looks like you have a very nice zoo! Awesome pictures. I love the baby Giraffe. Our Giraffes had two babies last year that aren't much of babies anymore :).
ReplyDeleteOh, I need to look for Deeper.
Wow, that looks like a beautiful zoo!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trip! The best of both worlds: beautiful scenery and books. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the conservatory is gorgeous! And, I loved seeing the lion's freckled nose. I had a cat like that once. lol
Thanks for sharing the pictures!
The animal pics are great! That lion looks like he was just tuckered out after playing with his tire.
ReplyDeleteAs for the book pile, read Staked by J. F. Lewis as soon as you get a chance. I really enjoy it. Have a review of both his books on my blog if you're interested.
Here's the addy for the Staked review - http://daelith.blogspot.com/2008/07/staked-by-j-f-lewis.html

ReplyDeleteIf you love the heat the conservatory would be the place to read. I couldn't do it though. It was hotter in the conservatory that it was outside.
But is sure what beautiful.
Oh, well that wouldn't work for me either. The heat and I mix well together like oil and water. I'll just admire the conservatory from afar then, shame since it looks so tranquil. :)
ReplyDeleteDonna
Seriously, the baby Giraffe is the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life!
ReplyDeleteI know I'm super late commenting... but that baby giraffe is just the cutest thing ever!
ReplyDelete... and omg! Curran is just being so lazy in those other shots. :P
