Title: Pride
Author: Rachel Vincent
Series: Shifters
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Year: 2009
Summary and Blurb: Here's hoping cats do have nine lives...
I’m on trial for my life. Accused of infecting my human ex-boyfriend—and killing him to cover up the crime. Infecting a human is one of three capital offenses recognized by the Pride—along with murder and disclosure of our existence to a human.
I’m two for three. A goner.
Now we've discovered a rogue stray terrorizing the mountainside, hunting a wild teenage tabby cat. It's up to us to find and stop him. With my lover Marc's help, I think I can protect the vulnerable tabby from both the ambitious rogue and the scheming of the territorial council.
If I survive my own trial…
Thoughts: This book pretty much continues where the last one (Rogue) ended. Faythe is in the fight for her life, cause of one small accident. I kinda have a love/hate relationship with Faythe. She is a great heroine, but sometimes her actions are really dumb. You just want to shake her.
I loved this story, I thought it was a much better than book two. It was entertaining, driven, shocking as well having some heartbreaking moments. Plus the plot wasn't all about Faythe this time. A new tabby has come on to the scene. I hope we'll see more of her in the next book. I was hoping for a different ending, but it could have been alot worse. I don't want to spoil too much, so if you read the book you'll understand what I mean. If your fan of shifter books, this is definitely one to check out.
