[ARC Review] - Haunted Honeymoon

Title: Haunted Honeymoon
Author: Marta Acosta
Series: Casa Dracula
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 28, 2010

I received this book for review from the author.

Summary: Will she get another chance with the vamp that got away?

As the only human to survive vampire infection, Milagro de Los Santos has become quite a celebrity among the blood-drinking elite. Too bad the perks of her condition—increased strength, super-fast healing—don’t pay her condo fees. There are other complications too. She feels guilty about her fling with decadent, enigmatic Vampire Council member Ian Ducharme, and she pines for her ex-fiancĂ©, Dr. Oswald Grant . . . the fabulous man whose kiss changed her life.

It’s when Milagro—upset by Ian’s attentions to his neighbor—travels to London and enjoys a sexy flirtation of her own, that the blood really hits the fan. Suddenly, those around her are dying gruesome deaths and Milagro’s being interrogated. Who would kill to set her up as a murder suspect?

All she wants to is turn back the clock and have another chance to make things right. No sooner has she escaped to Oswald’s ranch than an accident obliterates her memory. Will the murderer come after her, and will amnesia spark a romantic do-over with Oswald—or will Milagro make all the same mistakes before she ever gets to say “I do”?

Thoughts: Milagro's life has had some crazy ups and downs ever since meeting Oswald Grant and Ian Ducharme. Some might say she's a magnet for trouble.

The last time that trouble was calling her name, Milagro was about to marry Oswald. Everything bad that could of happened, did happen. Poor Milagro! She ends up losing Oswald, who she still loves. Even though she is with Ian now, she just wishes for a do over - to do things differently. Be careful what you wish for Milagro cause you just might get it...

Where do I even start! I could go on at length - but that would involve so many spoilers, and I don't want to do that. First off I just straight up loved this story. A Casa Dracula story never disappoints there is always something excited or shocking going on. Haunted Honeymoon is an action packed romp, full of hilarious moments. I had a hard time putting it down, was very eager to see how things would play out. A must read!

This is the last book in the Casa Dracula series. I love all these characters, its so fun visiting their world. They definitely will be missed. Milagro is a fabulous character. She's smart and laugh out loud funny. There are times you'd like to shake her, cause she doesn't always do the sane thing -- but in the end it's hard not falling in love with her. The ending was a bit surprising, but I think it's the perfect HEA for Milagro.

Score: 5 Stars

  3. I've heard of this author but haven't read anything of hers yet. I need to give her a shot. I love the colors on the cover too.

Also, I hope you don't mind a little self-promoting! I did a book review VLOG for Gail Carriger's "Blameless". If you have 8 minutes to spare, please check it out and let me know what you think :)

    Thanks!
