Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten All Time Favorite Characters In Books

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each Tuesday features a different topic and you post your top ten list related to the topic.

This weeks topic is Top Ten All Time Favorite Characters In Books.
(here are some of my favorites)

1. Sookie Stackhouse from the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris.
  • Great character that I still love as much as the first time I read her. While she isn't always the smartest character, she is strong. It's always a pleasure reading about her adventures. But really she is a character that shouldn't get confused with the TV version, to me they are totally different characters. The original is the best.
2. Harry Potter from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
  • When I read the first book, I had no idea how much this one character was gonna mean to me and others. A hero to most of us, special. But he doesn't want to be made special or pointed out. To him he is "Just Harry".
3. The Men of the Pride series by Shelly Laurenston.
  • Mace, Brendon, Smitty, Mitch, Lock, Bo, Ric and Crush are absolutely one of a kind characters.  I have tried to pick a favorite one many times, but there is something about each guy that I love. They have been such a treat to read about.  Did I mention that every one of them are shifters and so damn sexy? ;)
4. Eric Northman & Bill Compton from the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris.
  • In my eyes you can't mention one without the other. Both characters that I loved and have hated one time or another.  I really love both. The series will be ending soon and it will be a sad day, but it'll be interesting how things will end.
5. Japhrimel from the Dante Valentine series by Lilith Saintcrow.
  • Japh is a wonderful character. He is my favorite thing about the series. Why the main character Dante is very awesome, she has a knack for pissing people off, especially the reader. It's just a shame that there wasn't more Japh.
6. Simi from the Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.
  • Simi is such a fun character to read about. She is hilarious and innocent. But can be down right evil, if only her Akri would let her. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someday she'll get her own book.
7. Zsadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward.
  • I have loved all the men in BDB, but Zsadist is still my favorite. He is bad ass and can be considered a bad boy. If you looked up bad boy in the dictionary you'd probably see his picture. But he also has the tender side to him that will make you melt.
8. Jean-Claude from the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter by Laurell K. Hamilton.
  • I loved Jean-Claude for the beginning and he is still one of my favorite things about the series. He really is pure seduction that much sexiness should be illegal. The man has more patience than anyone I know and really he would have to, to deal with Anita Blake.
9. Jeremy from Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong.
  • Jeremy has been quite a few books in the series but it wasn't until No Human Involved that I really fell in love with him. Even though the series is winding down, still hope Jeremy & Jaime will get another book.
10. Macon Ravenwood from the Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.
  • I have listened to all of the audios of this series and the narrator is so lovely bring each southern accent to life and the best is Macon Ravenwood. A southern gentleman, but very dark and mysterious.  Actor Jeremy Irons has been cast in the role for the movie. While I'm not sure he is the perfect actor to play Macon, I'm eager to see how he will portray the character.

  4. Wonderful picks!

Jeremy is one of my favorites too. I've loved his character since reading the short stories featuring him before he became alpha. I hope that Armstrong gives him and Jaime another book too.

I love the men in the Pride series too. I think my favorite is Ric.

  5. I seriously feel like I need to play catch up, I have only heard about these characters but haven't actually read any of the books besides the women of the otherworld series. I like Jeremy but for some reason I like Clay more :)
