[Review]- Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Title: Bloodlines
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Bloodlines
Genre: Young Adult
Release Date: August 23, 2011

Summary:  Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. Alchemists protect vampire secrets--and human lives.

When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir--the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir--is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the unlikeliest of places, a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. The last this Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathizing the vampires. And now she has to live with on.

The Moroi court believe Jill and Sydney will be safe to Amberwood Prep, but threats, distractions, and forbidden romance lurk both outside--and within--the school grounds. Now that they're in hiding the drama is only just beginning.

Thoughts: Alchemist Sydney Sage has been set to the task of protecting Jill Dragomir, the sister of Lissa Dragomir. There has been an attack against Jill. It has been decided that Jill along with Sydney and her Dhampir Guardian Eddie will be going into hiding away from court at Amberwood Prep in California.

Vampire Academy is one of my favorite series. I was excited there was gonna be a sequel series - but I was a bit wary about it too. The book sat on my shelf for quiet some time. I wish I would have picked it up sooner. I ended up loving it. I loved Sydney's voice - and her banter with Adrian (I hope we get to see more of him). I was instantly sucked into the story. I thought the setting was perfect. While it's similar to VA, it also stands out on it's own.  The only thing that really got to me was Sydney's wariness to magic and the Moroi. She had a few freak outs that I just thought were over the top. Bloodlines turned out to be such an addicting  read that I jump straight into The Golden Lily.

  2. The book wasn't exactly what I expected but i still loved it to bits! I love the banter between Sydney and Adrian. It's cute! I'm so glad you liked the book. A lot of people have been expecting sooo much of this sequel series that most of them didn't like it much. :( I'm glad we're the ones who do! Thanks for the review!

    1. I noticed that there was a mix of reviews. It's sad there are some that didn't like it. Especially if they enjoyed Va.
