Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Books You've Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each Tuesday features a different topic and you post your top ten list related to the topic.

This weeks topic is Top Ten Favorite Books You've Read During The Lifespan Of Your Blog.

My reading during the life span of this blog runs from 2007 to now and I have to say this was one of the hardest Top Tens I've done. There were so many good books to pick from.

1. Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid #1)- Richelle Mead
Richelle Mead is one of the first authors to friend my on MySpace. Succubus Blues was on the verge of being released. I didn't know much about the book, but was so in awe that an author friended me. LOL! I was instantly taken with Georgina, Seth and the rest of the gang. This is a dark series, but laugh out loud funny too.

2. Demon Angel (The Guardians #1)- Meljean Brook
Demon Angel took me forever to get through and it was so worth it. This book really sets the tone and the world and there was a lot of back history to get through. Hugh and Lilith are quite an interesting couple with a very intense past. Love this series. The last book Guardian Demon (Michael's book) comes out May 7, 2013

3. Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander #4)- Karen Marie Moning
This pick was a hard one. It was a toss up between Kiss of the Highlander and  The Dark Highlander, because really you can't talk about Drustan MacKeltar without mentioning his brother Dageus MacKeltar. If your look for some hot Scottish guys, look no further! These two are my favorites in the series and if you get the chance to listen to them on audio, do it. Narrator Phil Gigante is amazing.

4. Acheron (Dark-Hunter #12)- Sherrilyn Kenyon
Acheron is one of my favorite characters and this book is one of my favorites in the series. While we see Ash in almost every book, we don't really get to know him or his whole story till this book. He has suffered so much cruelty that the story is hard one to read, but altogether it was an awesome story.

5. The Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins
I was seeing this book on the shelf for months and months, I  had no clue what it was or about dystopian books really.  But when I got contacted to have a promotion for Catching Fire, it was time to see what it was all about. I was blown away how fast I got hooked on this one. It's not something I would have normally picked up, but its now one of my favorites.

6. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter- Seth Grahame- Smith
At the time this came out I wasn't a fan of mash-ups. But I love vampires and the history of Lincoln has always interested me that I had to read it. I ended up reading this one in a few days and loved it. Yes, it's fantasy and silly, but it was fantastic read.

7. Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles #1)- Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
This series is addicting. I've listened to this whole series on audio. I would highly recommend the audio over the book every time. That reason is because the narrator Kevin T. Collins rocks hard. He brings the southern setting and characters to life so amazingly. Especially with Macon and Amma. As you probably already know, Beautiful Creatures is being made into a movie, I can't wait to see what it will be like.

8. Nightshade- Andrea Cremer
Before I knew what it was about, this one ended up on my tbr list all due to the awesomeness of the cover and that the author was from Minnesota. I was blown away by the cover and then later devastated when they changed artists. The actual story was amazing, I loved it. It's my favorite out of the three books.

9. Hounded (Iron Druid Chronicles #1)- Kevin Hearne
I was also drawn to this cover. The cover model is a hottie! Plus the fact he was a druid. Another fun book/series to fall into. His dog Oberon is hilarious and he is one of the main things I love about the books. I listened a few of the books on audio and the narrator does an excellent Oberon.

10. A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice & Fire #1)- George R.R. Martin
I didn't start reading A Game of Thrones until almost the end of Season 1 of the TV show. It amazed me how well the TV show runners stayed true to the book. Plus I was sucked into it as much as watching the show. Now it's a long book, so it took me a while to finish... but it was a great read. I'm slowly reading book two.

  1. I really need to read The Song of Ice and Fire series- I think the sheer size of the books puts me off. Pure laziness.
