[ARC Review] - Kiss of Steel by Bec McMaster

Title: Kiss of Steel
Author: Bec McMaster
Series: London Steampunk
Genre: Steampunk/Historical Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 1, 2012

I received this book from Sourcebooks, in exchange for an honest review.

Summary:  He craves her like no other…

Honoria Todd has no choice. Only in the dreaded Whitechapel district can she escape the long reach of the Duke of Vickers. But seeking refuge there will put her straight into the hands of Blade, legendary master of the rookeries. No one would dare cross him, but what price would he demand to keep her safe?

Ever since Vickers infected him with the craving, Blade has been quicker, stronger, almost immortal—and terrified of losing control of the monster within. Honoria could be his perfect revenge against the duke…or the salvation he never dared to dream of.

Thoughts: Honoria and her siblings have gone into hiding in Whitechapel. In hopes of staying out of reach of Vickers.  This act lands her straight into the path of the vampire Blade. No one crosses him and his protection comes with a price. Honoria is not sure she's willing to pay the price.

Steampunk and I are not the best of friends. There have been a few stories I've enjoyed, but for some reason I've had a hard getting into the genre. But with Kiss of Steel the story clicked with me. I loved the mixture of the steampunk and paranormal elements.  I enjoyed the setting and was absolutely charmed by the hero and his "accent".  I liked McMaster's take on vampires. Kiss of Steel is a wonderfully paced world that is delectable and dangerous. Fans of both genres will enjoy this one.
