Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Movies to Get In the Halloween Spirit

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each Tuesday features a different topic and you post your top ten list related to the topic.

This weeks topic is Top Ten Books to Get In the Halloween Spirit, but I couldn't come up with a good 10 book list. But movies on the other hand are a different story.

Here are my Top Ten Favorite Movies to Get In the Halloween Spirit

1. Halloween [1978]
  • I watch this every Halloween, it's a must for me. John Carpenter's is my favorite. I have enjoyed watching Rob Zombie's versions, but in my eyes the original is still the best.
2. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown [1966]
  • I've been watching this every Halloween since I was little. It's just not Halloween without it.
3. Sleepy Hollow [1999]
  • There have been many versions of this story, but Tim Burton & Johnny Depp's version
    is my favorite.
4. House on Haunted Hill [1999]
  • Another remake. It didn't do all that good, but I absolutely love it.  A fun movie to watch on a dark creepy night.
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas [1993]
  • Jack Skellington! This is probably the only movie that I watch at both Halloween and Christmas.
6. Resident Evil [2002]
  • My friends have probably heard me mention many times I'm not a fan of zombies, but Resident Evil is the exception. I loved the first one and really the whole franchise. This is great movie to watch for Halloween.
7. Scream [1996]
  • Another franchise I love. Although some of the sequels sucked, I still love the first one.
8. Children of the Corn [1984]
  • This is definitely one to watch on Halloween, you can't go wrong with a Stephen King movie. I first watched this one in elementary and those kids freaked me out... frankly they still do. LOL!
9. Dracula [1992]
  • I've only seen bits and pieces of the old Dracula movies. But my favorite is Francis Ford Coppola's version. Gary Oldman is the perfect Dracula.
10. Interview with a Vampire [1994]
  • Both the book and movie is one of my favorites. Not necessarily scary, but definitely a good one to get into the Halloween spirit.

  5. Great list, I see plenty of my faves there - the Charlie Brown, Sleepy Hollow, Dracula, Resident Evil, the first Scream movie.

Children of the Corn gives me nightmares. I know it's totally hokey, but I've seen way too many weird little kids staring at me from front yards. So it isn't the movie that freaks me out, it's that the movie reminds me of weird kids in my neighborhood.

  7. I am not a big scary movie fan. Mainly because my husband tries to scare me more than the movie! LOL
I haven't even watched half of what is on your list. Although I do agree with the Charlie Brown one. LOL
