Blog Tour: Vampires Gone Wild | Character Interviews + Giveaway

Excuse me, but who rescued who here?

Thank you for hosting us today during our blog tour for the new Supernatural Underground anthology Vampires Gone Wild (out Feb 12th at all ebook distributors) Pamela Palmer, Amanda Arista, and Kim Falconer present an intimate interview with the woman who manages to tame the hearts of our vampire heroes

Pamela Palmer: A Forever Love
Heroine: Elizabeth

How did you meet Lukas? Was it love at first sight or? When did you know Lukas was for you?
I met Lukas at a bar in Georgetown. He was so sweet, and so amazingly good-looking, I couldn’t believe that in that whole place, I was the one who caught his eye. And I have to say, he definitely caught mine, and every other woman’s in there. He’s tall and blond, like a Viking god, with a smile that could light up the darkness.
We spent almost every night together for eight months. He was never available days—his work kept him busy—but he always saved his nights for me. I fell in love with him, it was impossible not to, but I was a fool for doing so. Two years ago he left without a word and I haven’t heard from him since. I need to forget him—clearly he didn’t feel for me what I felt for him. But it’s so hard to forget when I can’t stop loving him.

Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Lukas. The most frightening?
The most embarrassing wasn’t a moment, really. I always seemed to wake up with a pair of red welts on my neck whenever we slept together. Like I had this weird allergy to him, or something. They didn’t itch, and always faded by noon, but they were kind of unsightly. Occasionally, Lukas would brush them with his thumb as he said good-bye to me early in the morning. Lukas always had to leave for work before sunrise, even on weekends.
There were so many clues that he either wasn’t that into me, or wasn’t being honest with me. For all I know, he had a wife somewhere who thought he worked nights. But I was in love, and I trusted him. Until he walked out of my life without a backward glance.

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you've had to face. Has it changed your world view?
Obstacles? All I’ve really had to deal with is being abandoned by the boyfriend I’d hoped to someday marry. Nothing a million other women haven’t had to deal with.

[Elizabeth here, again. I just got back from Vamp City, just found this interview that I forgot to send in. OMG, OMG, OMG. Lukas never meant to leave me. He’s trapped. He’s a vampire! OMG.]

Amanda Arista: First Dates are Hell
Heroine: Esme

How did you meet Valiance?
God, this is embarrassing. I met him at work where I sold him a set of sheets.  And then this demigod comes back a week later and asks for me by name? I was convinced that most people couldn’t even see me but he did. It was the most exciting day of my life.  How pathetic is that?

When did you know Valiance was for you? Was it love at first site?
It wasn’t love at first sight. And yes, this is going to sounds really cheesy, but it was love at first bite. Because when he fought for my aubelita, I knew that he was more than just a vampire. He was a man who was loyal and brave and the moment that I made the decision to fight with him, to heal him with my blood, I knew I always wanted to fight beside him.

Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Valiance. The most frightening?
They are one in the same. and I can’t really say what is was but it involved a sword and Emily Dickenson. I learned a lot about myself in that night, most of it was crazy, but that part was by far the most embarrassing and Valiance NEVER lets me live it down.

No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you've had to face. Has it changed your world view?
Yeah, my world was flipped like a pancake that night. Everything is different. Magic is real. Vampires are real, My aubelita is a witch. Nothing is the same. And yet the fundamental things hacen’t changed: protect your family, keep white stone around your house for protection and always be on time. Especially for your dates with a certain civil war vetran.

Kim Falconer: Blood and Water
Heroine: Angelina

How did you meet Stellan? Was it love at first sight or?
Stellan was a kind and perfect gentleman who assisted me in a time of need. I’d been tossed into the San Francisco Bay during a ferry accident, and I can tell you immediately, it’s neither warm nor pleasant, swimming a mile to safety through those gray choppy waves, corset and all. Fortunately, I am a strong swimmer. He found me washing up on shore and helped me home. That was how it all began . . . at least that’s what I thought, at the time.

Was it love at first sight?
*smiling* No. He was handsome, and dashing, and unnerving all at once, but also closed to my intuition, as if hiding something behind those beautiful dark eyes. If the love took time to grow, I’ll place the blame on him! Of course, I wasn’t entirely free to feel such yearnings. That kept me in check, I am sure . . .
When did you know Stellan was for you?
When I thought he’d perished in the fire. Seeing him alive was like waking up from a dream. When I realized how much I loved him, when I couldn’t deny it any longer, it was like a light switched on. I hadn’t known how dark it had been, until that moment.
Without giving too much away, tell us the most embarrassing moment you had with Stellan. The most frightening?
The embarrassing moments had more to do with the sensations in my body than anything said or done. It was like we shared secrets that only my body remembered, and that betrayed me more than once!

The most exciting was our first kiss. If I elaborate, I’ll only create more embarrassment for myself. Suffices it to say, it reduced me to a primitive, nonverbal state . . . one that I would gladly return to, again and again.
No spoilers, but what can you tell us about the obstacles you've had to face. Has it changed your world view?
It felt like our entire relationship was one big series of obstacles, the first being my ‘arranged’ engagement to a man who, as I suspected, was less than a perfect match. Facing each challenge has changed me. Love has changed me!

I used to think I had to fit in, only allow my eccentric nature to roam within ‘normal social limits’. But I’m my own woman now, free to love in the way I choose. It’s utterly liberating!

GIVEAWAY: A digital copy of Vampires Gone Wild. To enter fill out the rafflecopter below. Open to everyone!

Vampires Gone Wild brings together four paranormal romance novellas by Kerrelyn Sparks, Pamela Palmer, Amanda Arista, and Kim Falconer, authors and bloggers at Supernatural Underground.
Kerrelyn Sparks's demure Pamela and sexy vampire sidekick battle the Malcontents in "V is for Vampwoman." Kim Falconer's aqueous San Francisco vampires in "Blood and Water" want nothing from "landers" -- unless it's dinner, but that's until Stellan meets Angelina. Pamela Palmer carries readers to Vamp City in "A Forever Love" where trapped Lukas pines for his lost love. When she appears, Lukas will fight to keep her alive. It's been a hundred years since Valiance has dated; all is great until they're attacked, but quiet Esme will shock Valiance in Amanda Arista's "First Dates Are from Hell."
