Title: Styxx
Author: Sherrilyn Kenyon
Narrator: Fred Berman
Series: Dark-Hunter
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 3, 2013

I received this audio book from Macmillan Audio, in exchange for an honest review.

Summary:  There's Two sides to every war and you don't know Styxx...

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge. As the twin of Acheron, Styxx hasn't always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting each other's backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's

Bethany, the Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery has vowed that Acheron will join their fellow gods in hell. Now Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other. Worse, Styxx is forced to battle the only woman who has ever held his heart. And to save the world, he will have to choose between the brother who has betrayed him and the woman who once meant everything to him.

Thoughts: For those who don't know, Styxx is the twin brother to Acheron. Except for their eyes they look exactly alike. He is first introduced in Night Embrace (book 3) helping the God Dionysus cause chaos for Acheron and the Dark-Hunters.  He wasn't very likable, and I wondered how I would come to like him. But reading this book brings the truths out and Acheron & Styxx's relationship full circle.

One of the hardest books (besides Acheron) I've read. The constant cruelty is almost too much.   That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Styxx's side of things. Knowing both Acheron's side and now Styxx's, explained many things.  It was a lot of past history to get through and the revelation at the end so surprising.  But it was worth it. If you read Styxx make sure you have a box of tissues, there are a lot of heart wrenching moments. Sherrilyn Kenyon writes tortured heroes like no other.  It amazes me every time.  How much her heroes have been to hell and back but still learn to have hope and love again. A must read in my eyes!

Styxx is narrated by Fred Berman. I did really miss Holter Graham's voice, but Mr. Berman was a nice change and did very well with all the different characters.
