Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each Tuesday features a different topic and you post your top ten list related to the topic.

This weeks topic is:  Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR.

1. John Green
  •  I was first introduced to John Green through Vlogbrothers. For those of you who don't know, it is a YouTube channel that John and his brother Hank run.  It wasn't until after watching many, many videos that I decided to read one of John's books. The first was Looking for Alaska, then The Fault In Our Stars and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. I loved all three.
2. Samantha Young
  • After I finished reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy I was hearing a lot about Samantha Young's  On Dublin Street. I had been told if you like Fifty Shades you'll love this new book. I instantly feel in love with Joss and Braden and ending up liking it much more than Fifty Shades. I went on to read the short story as well as book two Down London Road.
3. Gillian Philip
  • I was introduced to Gillian Philips when I got a review request to read her book Firebrand. I love her Scottish brothers Conal & Seth.
4. Brooklyn Ann
  • I came across Brooklyn Ann's book on Amazon, I'll admit the title attracted me - Bite Me, Your Grace
5. Veronica Roth
  • I listened to the audiobooks of Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant this past year. I love the series, but book 3 was a bit disappointing. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming movie.
6. Shaunta Grimes
  • I got a review request to read Viral Nation. The dystopian genre is not my go to genre, but I really loved this one and the characters.
7. Philippa Gregory
  •  I had heard of Philippa Gregory, and finally got around to reading her.  I reviewed the audiobook of Stormbringers. Enjoyable read, but I was a bit lost, it being the second book in the series.
8. Joe Hill
  • I have yet to read any of Joe Hill's books but I did read his graphic novels Locke & Key that he co-writes with Gabriel Rodriguez. Such an addicting series, can't wait for volume 6 to come out.
9. Christopher Rice
  • Mr. Rice has several books out, but Heaven's Rise was the first one I read. It was unique and creepy. I'm hoping he'll write more in this genre.
10. Diana Gabaldon
  • Outlander was recommended to me years ago and I finally got around to to reading it and loved it.

  1. I read Will Grayson, Will Grayson last year and liked it, though I haven't read anything else by John Green.
And I love Divergent, though I agree with you: the last books was disappointing.

  5. Glad to see you enjoyed Veronica Roth, John Green, Diana Gabaldon, and Philippa Gregory. I still need to read On Dublin Street though I love Samantha Young's YA novels.
