Stepping out of my Comfort Zone: For me that would be Historical Romance. Before this year the only Historicals I read were ones that had Paranormal in them. But thanks to Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas & Kinley MacGregor I've been sucked into this genre and now it's one of my favorites.
Other books I enjoyed this year: Iron Kissed By: Patricia Briggs, The Empress' New Clothes By: Jaid Black, Dream Chaser By: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Fire Study By: Maria V. Snyder, Daughter of the Blood By: Anne Bishop, Midnight Rising By: Lara Adrian, Sea Witch By: Virginia Kantra, Let the Night Begin By: Kathryn Smith, Kiss of the Highlander By: Karen Marie Moning, Walk on the Wild Side By: Christine Warren, Lunewulf Law By: Lorie O'Clare, Spirits Unveiled By: Amanda Cummings, It Happened By Autumn By: Lisa Kleypas, Lord of the Fading Lands By: C.L. Wilson, Driven By: Eve Kenin, The Duke & I By: Julia Quinn, One Silent Night By: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Crossing Swords By: Kirsten Saell

Thank you, Anna :). That was so nice of you to think of me. It was a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteWhew, 258 books! I read about 155. My list shows 162 but there are some DNF's. I may try to out read you in a month, but I couldn't in a year!! :P!! LOL!
I have Wicked Game. I'm gonna have to move that up on the reading list also! We have a few that are the same.
Your other books you enjoyed, we read more of the same ones of those.
I really enjoyed Spirits Unveiled. :)
ReplyDeleteI was pretty happy with my 258 number. I past the number I read in 2007. It probably would be alot more if I list every anthology I read.
I hope you enjoy Wicked Game. I loved it. :)
One of my big worries with liking or not liking Wicked Game is that she wrote it in first person present tense. I have a hard time adjusting to that. First person is one thing, present tense is another. I think that's why I had a hard time reading Wanderlust. I liked Grimspace, but too much of that writing style is hard for me to enjoy. But I'm gonna read it. Maybe next month.
ReplyDeleteWow 258! I was happy to get out 100. :D That's incredible. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brooke! I usually end up shocking myself on how many I read.
ReplyDeleteGreat list Anna! You read a ton of books and I love that you put the authors that were new to you!
ReplyDeleteAmy - I think you'll like Wicked Game. You're already a fan of Jeri's writing and I managed to get past the 1st person present tense thing so I think you can too.
I love these end of year lists. Always interesting to see what people put. I think Ann Aguirre and Jeri Smith-Ready will be on a lot of people's lists. I had them on mine!
