[Review] - Leticia's Lovers

Title: Leticia's Lovers
Author: Shelley Munro
Series: Middlemarch Mates
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Year: 2009

I received this book for review from the author.

Summary and Blurb: Lion shifter Leticia Huntingdon has FIV, the feline version of AIDS. For months she’s been in remission, treated by Gavin Finley, the Middlemarch feline doctor. Now the disease has returned. Her feelings for Gavin can’t go anywhere because of the FIV, so it shouldn’t hurt when Gavin turns to Charlie, the new male cop.

Gavin can’t believe how good sex is with Charlie, can’t believe he’s found a mate. The loving is amazing and hot, but Gavin can’t forget Leticia. He wants her in his life. He wants Charlie too. Confusion and jealousy create torrid undercurrents for the trio.

Charlie McKenzie falls for Gavin quickly and can’t understand why he’s attracted to Leticia. A nightmare changes everything, drawing the three together and bringing new possibilities. A ménage a trois. Raw need and passion brings them closer. If only the disease threatening Leticia’s life didn’t loom on the horizon…

Thoughts: This is the seventh and latest book in the Middlemarch Mates series. Leticia's Lovers is an emotionally driven story about a female feline shifter. She has FIV which is the feline version of AIDS, so she can't truly mate with another feline. This was my first time reading a book from this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Leticia's story is full heartache, and triumph. The dynamic of the three mates was interesting and very steamy.

  1. This sounds like a fabulous read. Unless it appears in a print book, I'll never get to read it, but I'm so going to send the author a fan note, even though I haven't read any of her stuff before... :-)

  5. This book threw me for a loop... Wow... FIV... now that is a first for me in the world of shifters. That in itself makes the book interesting!
Thanks for the review Anna! I will be writing this one down in my little (overflowing) notebook!!!

You said it was the seventh... are they stand alones or do I have to read the others first??

  6. Hi Cecile,

This was the time I ever came across a shifter could get sick, so I found that fact very interesting.

This was my first time reading this series. I didn't feel lost, so i think you could read them as stand alones.

  7. Thanks for letting me know that... because you know me and needing to read in order lol!!
I think that is very interesting that they have a "sickness" in the shifter community. That is a first for me too...

  8. Anna,

Thank you so much for reviewing my book, Leticia's Lovers.

I thought I'd better mention that Scarlet Woman (book 1), Peeping Tom (book 2) and Assassin (book 4) have a story arc and should probably be read in order for maximum reading enjoyment.

The rest of the books in my series are all stand alones.

    Thanks again,
    Shelley

  11. Oh Cecile, LOL! Nope I wasn't making fun of you. Cause I'm like you too. It's rare when I read a book out of order.
