I received this book for review from Sourcebooks.
Summary: Valentine Windham, youngest of five illustrious brothers, regards music as his only worthy accomplishment. With the onset of symptoms that render him incapable of playing his beloved piano, Val retreats to the country to hide his disability from friends and family and loses himself in the work of restoring a secluded, tumbledown estate…
Ellen Markham has secrets and grief of her own, but she gradually comes to admit her attraction to the handsome stranger on the neighboring estate. As these two lonely souls begin to find comfort in each other, they discover hidden depths of passion that they’ve both been hiding. When Ellen's past rises up to threaten her hopes with Val, she must choose whether to trust him, or continue to suffer in a silent, lonely purgatory of her own… But Val isn’t going to watch the woman he’s come to love as much—or more—than his music run away…
Thoughts: Ever since finishing up Julia Quinn's Bridgertons and Lisa Kleypas' Wallflower series I have been looking for something to fill the void, The Windham siblings definitely fit the bill. If you enjoy Quinn or Kleypas you should definitely give Grace Burrowes a try.
Valentine Windham's love, muse and passion is playing the piano. But tragedy strikes in the form of a hand injury. Making it devastating and painful to play. A friend and doctor suggests taking a break. With his grief he heads to the country - with hope of mending. He runs into Ellen FitzEngle, a widow he once shared a passionate kiss with.
A charming read. The Virtuoso is elegant, witty and deliciously sexy. When first introduced to Val in The Heir, I thought for sure he was destined to be with Anna's sister. But Ellen was a surprise and turned out to be the better match for him. I love the Regency era and Grace Burrowes brings it to life so beautifully.
