Thoughts: It's the 16th century, brothers Seth and Conal live in their world of the Sithe. The Veil protects and separates them the mortal world, where everyday people are condemned by the word of a neighbor for just being different. When Conal displeases the Queen, she exiles him to the mortal world. Being forever loyal to his brother, Seth follows his brother into exile.
I was blown away by this book. I loved it, way more than I thought I would. I probably wouldn't have picked up this book on my own - but when I saw the book trailer it had me at the Scottish brogue. Firebrand is a brilliant read. With beautiful description of the land that flows and makes you feel like your right there beside the characters. From the moment Seth MacGregor walked on the the page I was hooked. Ms. Philip's writing is magical. A must read!
